Dried Shitake Mushrooms
Dried shitake mushroom is a great staple to have on hand for doctoring up instant noodles. Goes really well with udon and is a great enhancement to mushroom flavored noodles. It’s also super yummy in miso soup.
Miso soup paste with dried shitake mushrooms, soft tofu and scallions.
#003 NISSIN Chicken Flavored Ramen

The neat thing about this noodle is it’s shape. It’s slightly concave in the middle so it’s the perfect fit for an egg. The cooking instructions are to place the noodles in a bowl, fill with boiling water and cover. The egg didn’t really cook through like it looks on the package. Maybe my water wasn’t hot enough….I cheated and used a hot water dispenser. There are no seasoning packets because these noodles were seasoned. Didn’t really taste like chicken but was yummy none the less.

instant noodles, ramen noodles | Comment (0)#002 D-PLUS Japanese Cookie (Hanako-Chan)

I first discovered this noodle snack in Honolulu while shopping at a popular Japanese/Asian supermarket called Don Quixote.

I love-love this noodle because you can break it up and have a crunchy treat or add hot water and have a soupy snack, just like the package suggests!

The noodles are already seasoned so there are no packets to add.

Another reason why I love this is noodle is that you can cook it to different stages…more crunchy or soft, I prefer more soft and less soupy because it’s extra slurpy. yum yum.

instant noodles, ramen noodles | Comment (0)Buttered Corn

This topping seems to be quite popular in ramen houses and is so easy to make at home for instant noodles. Just pop open a can of corn and sautee in butter or margerine. So simple and deelishious. The sweetness of the corn goes really well with pork and chicken flavored instant ramen. I added fresh cracked pepper for some spice.
