Taipei City, Taiwan: Arashi

Our last meal in Taiwan! Arashi Ramen…mmm mmm mmm.

Always a Line! Fortunately the patrons do like they do in Japan…they eat fast and leave! So the line wasn’t so bad. About 10 mins? So worth it.

The menu! To the left is the house special ramen which is a rich dark broth ( i think the secret is black sesame oil/paste). Middle page is their deep rich pork broth which is available in spicy flavor (that’s what I got).

Even the accoutrements on the table are tasty! These are green onions in a spicy red pepper paste. Yum yum.

Tada! My delicious bowl of ramen. I killed it! Each bite was heaven!! The broth really rich and creamy. Strong garlic flavors. Not too salty, very oily – i didnt need lip balm after this meal.

I rarely do this but I ate both pieces of the pork. That’s because the slices were paper thin and not too fatty…which I have never had before. Perfect portion size and oh so flavorful.

Noodles were on the thin side which is not my favorite but these had the perfect texture…a smidge softer than al dente. Sigh….will it be another year before I meet you again delicious ramen??!!

Back from food heaven

It’s my first night back from Taiwan and I’m cracked out jet lagged.  I might as well get some blogging done!  Here are some pics from the trip.

This bowl full of warm thick soup was waiting for us when we arrived at the apartment.  It was nice to have something warm and comforting in the tummy after a long restless flight.

I can’t believe we spent the whole day at the salon!  7 hours of being pampered was indeed the best way to start the new year, we left relaxed and happy and later crashed at dinner.
