nissin ufo yakisoba noodles
I love Yakisoba and was looking forward to trying these noodles that Fanny gave me.

When I peeled back the lid, I was pleasantly surprised to find lots of big pieces of dehydrated veggies. The yellow packet contained a sweet black bean and oil sauce. The smaller purple packet contained what looked like furikake? The directions on how to cook the noodles weren’t very clear as it was in Japanese and there were no pictures.

Sucks that I can’t read Japanese because the yaki soba turned out completely different than the picture on the lid. As you can see, I think I added too much water and maybe I was supposed to add the seasoning packets to the noodles after they were cooked? Oh well, regardless of my boo boo, my ufo yakisoba still turned out very tasty. The noodles were smooth and the sauce was toasty, sweet and a gingery. I think I’m going give UFO yakisoba another try and ask Fanny how to cook this properly.

For UFO’s yakisoba, you must first oper the lid where it’s printed ’1′ till you get to the middle, where the ’2′ is displayed. Then add water, close the lid ( put something on it ) and wait 3 minutes. After that, open from the side where ’3′ is printed, and remove the water from here. Once done, add the seasoned veggies, then the soil sauce and voila. Everything should be fine :)

Pour the water off after 3 minutes then add in the seasoning packet and oil sauce.

I also add extra seaweed strips and some dehydrated egg and rice seasoning mix.

Yeah, boiling water. Thanks for the directions in English. You’d have thought printing English on anything Japanese would make it sell better. At least stuff made for college kids like this.

U dont need to be Japanese to understand the cartoon instructions!

Indeed! Cartoon instructions would have been very helpful however on this particular bowl of noodles, there were no cartoons or picture instructions of any sort. : (
